Hanoi was ranked second among the top 10 cities with the friendliest customer service globally. The UK-based financial services and price comparison platform MoneySuperMarket announced this ranking in June.
The ranking analyzed over 100,000 customer reviews for businesses across 107 cities worldwide. These reviews covered restaurants, bars, attractions, and tourism activities, with scores based on the frequency of mentions of staff friendliness and service quality.

Edinburgh, Scotland, topped the ranking with 59% of reviews mentioning friendly service. Hanoi secured the second position with 58,6%, surpassing Liverpool, England, which ranked third with 58,3%.
The top 10 also included: Paris, France; Dublin, Ireland; Montreal, Canada; Vienna, Austria; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; and Birmingham and Bristol in England.
According to MoneySuperMarket, Southeast Asia is long considered one of the friendliest regions globally. International tourists frequently praise people in countries like Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam for their hospitality, warmth, and enthusiasm.
Vietnam has also consistently appeared in international rankings for the most hospitable nations for many years. Meanwhile, Hanoi gains increasing recognition from tourists for the quality of service and friendly experiences at accommodations, restaurants, and attractions.
In 2025, Time Out magazine ranked Hanoi 11th on its list of the 15 most beloved cities worldwide. In 2026, travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler further included Hanoi in its list of the 50 most beautiful cities globally.
Established in 1993, MoneySuperMarket is a major UK-based price comparison platform operating in the insurance, finance, energy, and telecommunications sectors. Beyond its price comparison services, the platform regularly conducts research and publishes rankings based on online review data.
