Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi has reached the milestone of one million visitors after two years of operation, solidifying its position as a premier entertainment and educational destination in Hanoi.

Opening in 8/2023 at the Lotte Mall Tay Ho Shopping Center, Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi quickly gained attention with its realistic ocean simulation and diverse marine ecosystem. Currently the largest indoor aquarium in the capital, it houses over 400 species and 31,000 creatures from various freshwater and saltwater environments worldwide.

In its first year alone, the aquarium welcomed approximately 500,000 visitors. By July, just before its second anniversary, Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi celebrated its one-millionth guest.

Statistics from the first half of 2025 show a visitor increase of over 110% and a revenue increase of around 90% compared to the same period last year. Notably, international visitors nearly doubled, highlighting the appeal of the aquarium's combined entertainment, education, and conservation model.

Reflecting on this achievement, Mr. Lee Hae Yeol, Director of Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi, stated that the impressive growth in the first half of 2025 demonstrates the aquarium's development, not only in scale but also in the quality of the experience.

"This achievement is thanks to the affection and trust of millions of customers, especially the strong support from the Vietnamese people. This motivates us to continue innovating and developing educational, entertaining, and conservation-focused products towards a sustainable model rich in human values, gradually asserting our position in the region," Mr. Lee said.

From its inception, Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi has charted a unique course: it is not merely an aquarium but a beloved destination combining entertainment, education, and conservation. Visitors can appreciate the meticulous detail, from the Vietnamese-inspired architecture to the thematic exhibits showcasing marine life. Beyond traditional viewing, the aquarium continually enhances the experience with special activities: mermaid performances, diver interactions, and other interactive programs.

The aquarium distinguishes itself by integrating education into every activity. Children not only observe but also learn through presentations about marine life and participate in activities like the "Save The Ocean" drawing contest.

Ms. Thanh Huong, a parent from Hanoi, shared that the visit provided relaxing moments and offered children valuable knowledge and enjoyable experiences.

Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi also aims to develop into a specialized conservation organization. In 4/2023, the aquarium signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Tropical Biology, Ministry of Science and Technology, laying the foundation for future marine biodiversity research and conservation projects.

With its engaging content and unique experiences, Lotte World Aquarium Hanoi enriches Hanoi's cultural and entertainment landscape. It also plays a key role in promoting modern family-oriented experiences.

In April, the indoor playground Lotty Friends opened, expanding the entertainment space for children with physical activities, exploration, and multi-sensory interactions. Lotty Friends marks the next step in the integrated entertainment ecosystem, demonstrating Lotte World's long-term commitment to supporting Vietnamese families in creating healthy and enriching bonding experiences.

Building on its success in Hanoi, Lotte World Aquarium aims to expand its entertainment-education-conservation model nationwide. "With international experience and a long-term vision, we aim to build humanistic entertainment spaces, promote awareness of nature conservation, and create lasting value for local communities," emphasized Mr. Lee Hae Yeol.
