Oktoberfest 2025's unique beer stein

The Oktoberfest organizing committee has revealed this year's unique stein design, inviting beer enthusiasts and tourists worldwide to the festival.

Instead of familiar symbols, the official stein for Oktoberfest 2025 features servers and performers, paying tribute to those who embody the festival's spirit with their hard work and hospitality.

The world's largest and oldest beer festival takes place from 20/9 to 5/10 in Munich, Germany. This is the 190th edition of the festival.

The beer stein is a highly anticipated feature of the annual festival. Upon entry, attendees receive a stein to fill at any tent. They can take the stein home afterward as a souvenir. Each year's stein features a different design while retaining the same shape for over a century, with a one-liter capacity.

This year's stein is 210 mm tall, weighs 1.15 kg, is handcrafted, and available in limited quantities. It's made of salt-glazed stoneware, a product of traditional Bavarian stoneware and pewter crafts.

The stein was unveiled in Munich last week. The design won first place in a competition held in February. The most prominent feature is a smiling waitress in traditional attire, carrying the hallmarks of Oktoberfest: beer steins, pretzels, trumpets, and Munich's buildings.

With a stylized stamp-like appearance, the design exudes vibrancy, humor, and hospitality. It reflects Munich's joie de vivre and is globally recognizable. The design also appears on the festival's poster and other merchandise.

Besides the stein for attendees, collector's edition 2025 steins are available at the official souvenir shop and Munich's tourist information offices for 35 EUR (approximately 1 million VND), or 55 EUR (approximately 1.7 million VND) with a lid. Each stein bears the designer's signature and comes in a gift box. Tourists booking a Munich tour during the festival will receive a complimentary stein.

Beer mugs are also sold as souvenirs. The limited-edition Munich festival beer mug has been produced since 1978. The clay mugs, also known as Keferloher, are made of gray stoneware. There's also a version with a handcrafted pewter lid. Notable Munich figures are honored on the mugs.

In Vietnam, the first German-style Oktoberfest was held in 1992. Oktoberfest 2025, organized by the German Business Association (GBA), the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK), and the JW Marriott Hanoi, will take place from 25/9 to 27/9 at the JW Marriott Hanoi. Tickets start at 1.95 million VND per person.
