Sunflower field blooms in Nghe An

A 100-hectare sunflower field at Nong truong 19/5 in Nghia Lam commune is in full bloom in late december, attracting hundreds of visitors daily for sightseeing and photos.

The sunflower field, planted by TH Group at Nong truong 19/5 in Nghia Lam commune, is located nearly 100 km from Vinh city center. This area features a midland terrain, transitioning between the western mountainous region and the coastal plain, which is favorable for large-scale agricultural development, especially livestock farming and industrial crops.

Sunflowers were first planted here about 10 years ago, initially serving as feed for dairy cows before the field was opened to visitors. The flowers are concentrated in field C10, located between dairy farms 1 and 3. Currently in full bloom, the vibrant display is expected to last until after the New Year.

A representative from TH stated that this year, the unit planted over 100 hectares of sunflowers, divided into three staggered batches. Visitors can explore and take photos from now until Lunar New Year.

Sunflowers, scientifically known as Helianthus annuus, belong to the daisy family (Asteraceae) and are also called "sun flowers". The plants typically grow 1,5 to 2 m tall with large leaves. Each flower head measures 30-40 cm in diameter.

After about three months of planting, the plants bloom and produce seeds. Each harvest yields approximately 40-45 tons per hectare.

Quang Anh from Ha Noi, who visited the field on 18/12, noted that this year's blooms are more uniform than in previous years. "The cool air and groups of people enjoying themselves and taking photos make me feel like I am at a Tet flower market," he said.

The ideal time to capture photos at the flower hill is typically early morning, from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM, to welcome the sunrise. Lucky visitors might even catch clouds drifting over the sunflower field. Late afternoon, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, is also beautiful as the sunset creates picturesque moments, according to Quang Anh.

Wide pathways are available throughout the flower field, allowing visitors to easily access deeper rows of flowers. Locals and tourists are advised to wear light-colored clothing and comfortable shoes to find desirable photo spots.

Dozens of miniature landscapes serve as photo opportunities for visitors. The area also provides free parking and tour guides. A wooden house diorama (pictured) mimics a dairy farm in Europe.

An "infinity staircase" is set up in the middle of the field for visitors to take photos.

Thuy Linh, a 25-year-old from Ha Noi, visited the sunflower field for the first time. She stated that it is an ideal destination for taking spring photos with friends and family. She stayed all afternoon, finding the scenery "more beautiful than expected".

Visitors can complete a day trip as the road to the field is easily accessible, located about 3 km from Quoc lo 48D.

Currently, the flower field area does not offer dining or accommodation services. Tourists are advised to stay in central Vinh, then travel to the field for a day trip, combining it with nearby activities such as camping and exploring the natural beauty of Nghia Lam.
