The system was developed by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism in collaboration with various units. Visit Vietnam is designed as a unified digital infrastructure to manage destination capacity, regulate visitor flows, identify operational risks early, and provide management tools for businesses based on real-time data.
The platform's data sources are compiled from management agencies, the travel community, and direct user feedback.

Visit Vietnam is developed as a virtual travel assistant. Based on national data and smart recommendation algorithms, the AI assistant helps travelers create personalized itineraries according to their preferences, time, and budget; book accommodation, attraction tickets, tours, and transportation; manage their journey on a unified interface; retrieve real-time information and receive alerts about weather, crowded conditions, or changes at destinations.
The platform also uses behavioral and payment data from international partners such as Visa to provide service suggestions closely matching customer needs. This ecosystem also connects data from major domestic tourism corporations to create a market forecasting model for the entire industry.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Pham Van Thuy, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, stated that this represents a shift in development thinking, preparing for the future of the tourism industry based on data, technology, and artificial intelligence.

According to Colonel Ha Nam Trung, Deputy Director of the National Data Center, Visit Vietnam lays the "first bricks" for a national data ecosystem, where ministries, localities, and businesses can participate and benefit.
The platform aims to establish its international stature by APEC 2027, when Vietnam hosts the event, by providing a Data as a Service (DaaS) model for global travel agencies. This will enable travel agencies and suppliers to access "accurate, complete, clean, and live" data to better understand the market, analyze customer needs, and make more precise decisions, rather than having to collect raw data themselves.
In 2025, Vietnam's tourism sector expects to welcome approximately 21,5 million international visitors, a 21% increase compared to 2024 and exceeding pre-Covid-19 levels. Domestic tourist arrivals are estimated to reach nearly 140 million, with total tourism revenue surpassing one trillion dong (trillion VND), continuing to be a significant driver of economic growth. Visit Vietnam is expected to become a new impetus for the industry in the coming period.
