A tourist named Jessica shared her "terrible experience on Mykonos" during her trip to Greece on Tripadvisor. She was charged 1,000 EUR for a three-course meal, including 350 EUR for a small plate of fish.
The restaurant, DK Oyster, located on Platis Gialos beach, is advertised as a high-end destination for those seeking privacy and relaxation. However, for years, the restaurant has received consistently negative reviews for its exorbitant prices and has a low 2.1/5-star rating.
While the restaurant lists a price of approximately 25 EUR per gram of sea bream, many patrons report that the gram-based pricing isn't clearly communicated, leading to unexpected bills.

"Even at Scorpios, the most famous restaurant on the island, dinner for five people with appetizers, main courses, and dessert wouldn't be this expensive," Jessica commented, comparing it to her 1,000 EUR meal.
Another tourist, Sue from England, shared that she was offered free drinks but later found them on her 400 EUR bill. The bill included charges such as 35 EUR for a can of coca-cola.
Amrita, who visited DK Oyster in 6/2024, described being lured into the restaurant with an offer of free beach chairs. She then ordered fish without a clear explanation of the weight-based pricing and ended up paying 400 EUR for over a kilogram of fish.

Gabriela, another patron, described the restaurant's practices as "organized fraud." She was charged 35 EUR for a beer and immediately presented with the bill.
In another instance, a customer saw an advertised price of 35 EUR for a lunch combo and beach chair. However, after ordering two bottles of water and a Diet Coke, the bill exceeded 50 EUR, with additional charges of 5 EUR for ketchup and 18 EUR for a small portion of fries.
DK Oyster has faced repeated controversy over its unclear pricing and alleged tourist traps. Despite the luxurious beach chairs and ocean view, the experience is often overshadowed by unexpectedly high bills and a lack of transparency.

In 2024, DK Oyster made headlines again when it charged undercover reporters 121 EUR for three small crab legs. The restaurant's owner, Dimitrios Kalamaras, who reportedly profits from unsuspecting tourists, was filmed in a heated argument with reporters about the shocking price.
The restaurant has remained silent in the face of these accusations.
