Tourists to enjoy horse riding and cherry blossoms at festival

Visitors to Dalat early this year can enjoy horse riding, archery, and complimentary coffee at the 2026 cherry blossom festival.

The Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee, Dalat, announced this information on the morning of 9/1.

The festival, hosted by the Xuan Huong Ward People's Committee in coordination with Lam Vien, Xuan Truong, Lang Biang, Cam Ly wards and several related units, marks the beginning of a series of festival and tourism activities for Lam Dong province in 2026.

According to the organizers, the festival adopts an open approach, fostering community engagement and centering tourists, residents, and tourism businesses. The activities take place when the flowers are in full bloom, extending from the city center to areas with many cherry blossoms, such as: Cau Dat, Tuyen Lam lake, Lang Biang, and Cam Ly.

One of the festival's attractions is the experiential space along Tran Hung Dao street, where cherry blossoms are combined with light decorations, photography, painting, and street art performances. Visitors can stroll beneath the blossoms, engage in creative activities, and enjoy works inspired by Dalat's spring.

Beyond the central area, at Tuyen Lam lake, visitors can experience cherry blossom viewing, archery, horse riding, and complimentary coffee.

The Valley of Love and some other areas will host art spaces, cultural exchanges, and Central Highlands gong performances beneath the blossoms.

Visitors also have the opportunity to participate in tree planting during the "Dalat's Brilliant Spring with Cherry Blossoms" activity, held at Bich Cau peninsula, helping to expand the city's green spaces.

The festival will open at Lam Vien Square on the evening of 16/1. Ms. Khuc Thi Thoi, deputy director of the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the festival not only honors the beauty of the cherry blossoms but also tells the story of Dalat's identity, culture, people, and rhythm of life. This flower is considered a symbol of Dalat's spring, linked to the city's history, urban landscape, and the memories of many generations of mountain town residents and tourists.
