Visit Vietnam was introduced at the "Tourism Data in Digital Economic Development" seminar co-organized by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the National Data Association (NDA), and several other units on 15/8. This platform will integrate information, destination reviews, and tourism service booking tools in Vietnam, marking a strategic step for digital tourism.
The NDA will issue policies and the legal framework for the project and serve as the project certification body. Sun Group will develop and operate the technology platform. The VNAT will support communication and promotion of the initiative on national channels, while also introducing the project and attracting the tourism business community to participate.
Data for the platform will be primarily contributed by the VNAT, the tourism business community, and tourists.

Visit Vietnam will integrate advanced technologies such as the AI Travel Assistant, capable of planning and automatically booking services for tourists; the NDAchain.vn platform, which enables decentralized verification, ensuring the reliability and transparency of information; and various services from transportation, accommodation, and dining to nationwide loyalty programs. Using blockchain technology and the Tokenization security process, data on the platform will be verified and protected.
In October 2025, the project will initiate the National Data Platform, launch version 1.0 of the National Tourism Dashboard for the government, and operate the program's information portal. By Quarter II of 2026, the platform is expected to launch to the public, focusing on building trust and providing itinerary planning tools, including a verification system via the national blockchain platform and trip planning features.
When APEC 2027 is held in Vietnam, it will mark Visit Vietnam's international reach, with direct booking services, AI-powered itinerary suggestions, and the launch of the data platform as a service (DaaS) for businesses. The goal is for it to become a comprehensive tourism "super app" after 2027, enabling one-touch booking, multimedia integration, and contributing to leading the Vietnamese tourism market globally.
At the seminar, representatives from the VNAT, the NDA, and strategic partners such as Sun Group, Visa, Mastercard, and Trip.com signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperative development of the Visit Vietnam national tourism data platform.
Speaking at the seminar, Lieutenant Colonel Dao Duc Trieu, General Secretary of the NDA, affirmed this as a crucial step in forming a public-private tourism data ecosystem, connecting data from multiple sources to serve three objectives: management, business, and tourist experience.
According to Trieu, data is the "lifeblood," the resource, and the light of the new era. Tourism data not only reflects tourist numbers, destinations, and services but also forms the basis for forecasting trends, optimizing products, enhancing tourist experiences, and assisting management agencies in evidence-based policy planning.
In addition, the data will enable businesses to innovate, provide personalized services, and connect the Vietnamese tourism ecosystem with global markets, Trieu said.
According to Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the VNAT, the tourism sector has been recognized by the government as a bright spot in the country's socio-economic landscape. In 2025, the sector is tasked with welcoming 25 million international tourists and serving about 150 million domestic tourists, contributing to the economic growth target of 8.3% to 8.5% of GDP.
In this context, technology application and digital transformation are identified as key solutions for the tourism sector to make breakthroughs, maintain high growth momentum, manage effectively, and improve service quality, Khanh stated.
The VNAT leadership expects Visit Vietnam to address the fragmented, disconnected, and inaccessible information. Specifically, the app will help tourists easily search for and book services and explore local culture, help businesses grasp trends and design personalized products, and support management agencies in data-driven policy planning.
