where to enjoy can gio seafood

visitors to Can Gio can visit dong hoa port and famous local eateries to savor and purchase fresh shrimp, ghe, squid, and snails.

Can Gio is a major seafood hub for Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM). Many visitors drive to this area on weekends to find and enjoy seafood at lower prices than in the city center.

Leveraging its strategic river mouth and coastal location, Can Gio boasts a rich supply of seafood, including shrimp, crab, ghe, various snails, and sea fish. The seafood here is typically caught daily or locally farmed, ensuring freshness and relatively stable prices compared to more distant coastal destinations.

For a rustic experience close to local life, visitors can choose Dong Hoa Port. Located in southern Can Gio, it is about 15 minutes from Hang Duong Market. The port buzzes with activity in the morning as boats dock, bringing in a variety of seafood. Seafood is sold directly at the pier, and some vendors offer simple preparation services for immediate enjoyment. Dong Hoa Port also supplies seafood to local markets and restaurants.

According to many visitors, the appeal of Can Gio seafood lies not only in its freshness but also in the dining experience within a natural setting. Enjoying a meal while feeling the sea breeze and surrounded by greenery creates a distinct experience compared to other coastal cities.

Local residents recommend eateries such as Song Chi, Loan Thao, Ba Ly, and Lang Cha. These establishments feature spacious, airy environments, large parking lots, and automobile parking for large tourist groups. Diners can select fresh Can Gio seafood from tanks and request it to be prepared into various dishes. Popular flavorful options include: steamed stingray with onion, tamarind ghe, steamed ghe, grilled oysters, and fish hotpot, with prices ranging from 100,000-500,000 dong.

This upcoming april 30 and may 1, families can visit Can Gio for a long holiday, combining tourism, seafood, and participation in the VnExpress Marathon Green Paradise Can Gio. The event offers distances of 5, 10, 21, and 42 km, suitable for families, amateur runners, and professional athletes.

For many families, participating in a running event helps members bond. After completing the race, participants can explore the local culture and cuisine together.

Can Gio is undergoing a transformation, welcoming a large-scale infrastructure network. The Ben Thanh - Can Gio high-speed railway will shorten the journey from central TP HCM to just 13 minutes; the Can Gio Bridge will replace the Binh Khanh ferry; and the Can Gio - Vung Tau sea bridge will establish an inter-regional tourism connection axis.

Situated at the heart of this network, Vinhomes Green Paradise is poised to become a new tourism and economic center in southern TP HCM. This super-urban area will feature a chain of international amenities, including VinWonders Can Gio (122 hectares), the Song Xanh Theater (5,000 seats), the Paradise Lagoon sea lake (over 800 hectares), and the Landmark 108-story tower. It is expected to welcome approximately 40 million visitors each year.
