Giant kites soar over Ca Mau's shrimp square

Dozens of large kites, shaped like shrimp, crabs, and cartoon characters, soared over Phan Ngoc Hien square, attracting many residents and tourists.

Hundreds of families brought children to Phan Ngoc Hien square in An Xuyen ward, Ca Mau province, to watch the kite performance during the weekend. The activity was part of the Art Kite Festival Week, organized by the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union in collaboration with the Lam Dong Provincial Sports Kite Federation.

Artisans checked anchor lines, wind direction, and adjusted formations. With changing wind conditions, each kite was gradually lifted higher, maintaining balance in the air.

Approximately 40 large kites were successively launched into the sky. Nguyen Manh Tai, General Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Sports Kite Federation, stated that they brought kites themed after Ca Mau, such as shrimp and crabs, along with LED kite models. This aimed to create a new recreational space and spread the art of kite flying to other localities.

Residents and tourists attending the kite flying event can park their vehicles on both sides of Phan Ngoc Hien square and find shade in the cooling shelters there. The area spans 8 ha, featuring numerous trees, flower beds, and a lighting system, serving the public for visits and kite photography in the evening.
