On Reddit, a popular Q&A forum in the United States, a user named Abdulrahmansal revealed a booking tip to maximize benefits during their stay. This individual consistently selects "two people" in the "room" section, despite frequently traveling alone. This booking method allows them to receive double the perks, such as extra breakfast vouchers and welcome drinks.
"At many Accor hotels, this approach offers greater flexibility," she stated.

The traveler believes booking a double room simplifies hosting friends, especially in areas reserved for paying guests. This eliminates awkwardness when inviting non-hotel guests into lounges or private rooms, and helps circumvent strict "single guest" policies often enforced by many major hotel chains.
However, she noted that this method is not universally applicable, as some accommodations charge varying fees based on the number of occupants per room. Therefore, guests should compare prices for one and two people before applying this tip.
Despite this, her tip received many likes and comments. Numerous travelers expressed their intent to try this hack on upcoming trips. Others who had traveled alone also shared similar experiences, reporting various benefits from booking rooms for two people.
A guest who booked a double room in Tulum, Mexico, recounted that when checking her room number and realizing it was designated for two people, the staff confirmed her entitlement to two meal portions. Throughout her stay, she consistently received double meals despite traveling alone.
"On checkout day, I tipped that employee generously," she said.
Another guest shared paying 130 USD per night for a queen room for one person in the United States. They later upgraded to a room for two, incurring an additional cost of only 5 USD per night, which granted them numerous extra privileges.
This individual also invited a friend from town to enjoy dinner and breakfast at the hotel's buffet without charge, whereas outside guests were typically charged 18 USD.
"After that experience, I never forgot the 'two-person lesson'," the guest recounted. "The hotel buffet was lavish. Nearly every friend I met in town at the time was invited by me for breakfast or evening canapes and drinks."
