"A very special angel is coming to us. See you in 2027, baby", Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten shared on his personal Instagram account on 19/10, accompanied by baby and feeding bottle emojis.
"Words cannot express our gratitude to the egg donor, the surrogate mother, and their families. Without them, this would not have been possible", he expressed.

In 2024, Mr. Jetten became engaged to Nicolas Keenan, a hockey player for the Argentinian national team. The two had planned to marry this summer but postponed it after Mr. Jetten assumed the position of Dutch Prime Minister.
At 39 years old, Mr. Jetten became the youngest prime minister in Dutch history after his D66 party's unexpected victory in the election held a year ago.
The D66 party stated that the surrogate mother and the egg donor are both friends of Mr. Jetten. They already have their own children and are helping on a non-commercial basis. In the Netherlands, paying for surrogacy services is illegal.

Mr. Jetten's party confirmed that this "high-tech" conception process fully complies with Dutch regulations and laws, carried out through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Mr. Jetten will take a few days off when the baby is born to be with his family, but he does not plan for extended parental leave.
