Both leaders noted positive outcomes across various areas: political - diplomatic relations, economic - trade ties, war legacy issues, science - technology, education - training, and people-to-people exchanges.

He conveyed his fondness for the Vietnamese people and for General Secretary To Lam, reaffirming the US commitment to supporting a "strong, independent, self-reliant, prosperous" Vietnam.
President Trump welcomed Vietnam's announcement to join the Peace Council and expressed gratitude. He commended General Secretary To Lam's direct attendance at the inaugural meeting, noting it showcased Vietnam's increasing international role and standing, alongside its strong commitment to global peace, stability, and cooperation.
President Trump also acknowledged Vietnam's efforts to balance bilateral trade and the valuable contracts signed during General Secretary To Lam's visit. Vietnam's consistent position asserts that all disputes and conflicts must be resolved peacefully, adhering to international law, the United Nations Charter, and respecting the fundamental rights and legitimate interests of all involved parties.
