On 29/8, CNN and India Today reported that the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal, while conducting rescue operations after a flash flood on the Bhote Koshi river, heard cries from debris in Timure, Rasuwa district, on 28/8.
Rescue teams quickly located and extracted the 6-year-old girl at 6 p.m. on 28/8. She was found in an area 2,200 meters high, near the Timure border checkpoint.
Video footage of the rescue showed rescuers carefully removing debris to free the girl. She was then transported to the Timure border checkpoint, where staff observed her health was rapidly deteriorating.
Officials attempted to airlift the girl to Kathmandu immediately, but darkness and adverse weather grounded the flight. She was ultimately flown to Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, on the afternoon of 29/8 and is currently hospitalized.
According to CNN, citing APF sources, the girl began speaking on the morning of 29/8 after resting and eating, identifying herself as Manisha. The APF has no information regarding her parents' status.

The flash flood began on the morning of 26/8, when a mountain ice block broke, releasing a torrent of water. It rushed down a steep valley at over 160 km/h, carrying soil and rocks, and creating flood waves up to 21 meters high. This disaster has killed at least 669 people in Nepal and 7 in Tibet, destroying numerous homes, structures, and bridges.
Nearly 3,000 people remain missing, with approximately 2,426 in Nepal and 554 in Gyirong district, Tibet. The missing include at least 540 foreign nationals, primarily pilgrims from India.
