"US President Donald Trump is blatantly lying. The American people need to know the truth. The US has no choice but to admit defeat and withdraw from the region," said Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), today.

According to Mohebbi, the IRGC has prepared a detailed letter for the American people. This letter aims to convey the "truth" and Tehran's stance on the ongoing conflict.

"This is purely a letter, not a propaganda effort to influence the media. It will convey Iran's perspective to Americans frankly and logically," the IRGC spokesperson emphasized.

The IRGC's statement follows Trump's rejection on 28/9 of an Axios report. The report, citing anonymous US officials, claimed the president had proposed easing sanctions and unfreezing Iranian assets in exchange for Tehran taking specific steps regarding its nuclear program.

"This information is inaccurate. I have never made any such offer!" Trump wrote on Truth Social. He described the Axios article as "fake news" and demanded its removal. However, the post remained on Axios's website.

Last week, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Iran proposed a ceasefire with the US and reopening the Hormuz Strait within seven days, via intermediaries. Trump publicly rejected Iran's proposal but later expressed hope that negotiations would resume in the coming days.

Iran's state news agency IRNA reported on 28/9 that Tehran currently has no plans for further direct talks with Washington.

Gas prices and essential consumer goods in the US have risen sharply since the Middle East conflict erupted in late February. This comes amid declining national poll support for Trump and the Republican Party's risk of losing its congressional majority in the november midterm elections.
