Israel accused of hospital airstrike in Gaza, killing 15

Gaza's civil defense agency reported an Israeli airstrike on a hospital in Khan Younis killed 15 people, including 4 journalists.

Israel launched two consecutive airstrikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, on Tuesday, according to witnesses. The first airstrike targeted the 4th floor of the facility. The second occurred after rescue workers, journalists, and others arrived at the hospital following the initial attack.

"15 people were killed, including 4 journalists and one civil defense member," civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal said.

The Israeli military and the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have not commented on the reports.

According to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, more than 240 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli fire in Gaza since the conflict began on 7/10/2023.

The conflict began when Hamas attacked southern Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and taking dozens hostage. Israel's retaliatory campaign in Gaza has so far killed more than 62,600 Palestinians, mostly civilians.
