"We have received information that floodwater levels on the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa continue to rise", the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of Nepal warned at 7h20 on 30/8.

Nepalese authorities issued continuous warnings of a new flood risk to residents throughout this morning.

Dharam Raj Uprety, executive director of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority of Nepal, stated that the latest warning followed China's notification to Nepalese officials about a significant increase in upstream water flow.

Nepalese officials also urged rescue teams to exercise caution, as search efforts for victims in areas devastated by the 26/8 flash flood entered their 5th day.

"All personnel involved in search, rescue, and relief operations, along with residents in riverside areas and affected regions like Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan, are urged to prioritize safety", NDRRMA reported.

The Nepalese Army reported that heavy rain at dawn caused river levels to rise, impeding search efforts in the Trishuli River area of Rasuwa.

Meanwhile, residents in flood-affected areas expressed panic and exhaustion from the relentless warnings.

"They occasionally announce impending floods, forcing us to flee to higher ground, even through the night or rain. It's all too much to bear", local resident Govind Shreshta shared.

Shreshta added that he must bring his 72-year-old father and 70-year-old mother with him each time a flood warning is issued. "I am exhausted. Survivors here endure this every day", Shreshta said.

Nepalese officials reported on 30/8 that 734 people died and 2,498 remain missing in the flash flood disaster. In China, 16 victims died and 546 are missing.

The flash flood, which occurred on the China-Nepal border on the morning of 26/8, originated from a broken mountain ice mass. It surged down the valley, creating a massive current that swept soil and rocks downstream.

Survivors of the disaster are anxiously awaiting news of missing relatives, while also grappling with the daunting prospect of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

"The entire riverside residential area has been swept away. Nothing remains", said Buddhi Ram Dangol, a resident of Nuwakot district.
