The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported today that the Workers' Party, government, and military held a joint meeting in Pyongyang on 10/7. Leader Kim Jong-un attended the session.
During the meeting, the corrupt activities of General Pak Hui-chol, former deputy director for organizational work at the Korean People's Army General Political Bureau, and his associates were revealed. KCNA stated that Pak "accepted a large amount of bribes" and maintained a "depraved lifestyle" during his 4 years in the position.
"Pak Hui-chol's scandals are grave crimes beyond imagination, considering their danger and harm," KCNA reported.

The Workers' Party of Korea expelled Pak and referred his case to law enforcement.
Addressing the meeting, leader Kim Jong-un underscored the serious nature of General Pak's corruption. This comes as the Workers' Party of Korea is conducting a comprehensive campaign against abuse of power, bureaucracy, and corruption.
"This is a political crime, going against the Workers' Party's line of discipline building, and also an intentional act of embezzlement, depriving the state and people of benefits," Kim stated.
The North Korean leader also stressed that officials must uphold principles and integrity, always "remember the party's trust and prioritize the people."
