The condition of the 8 individuals aboard the aircraft remains unknown. Reuters quoted an official who reported a large fire broke out following the crash.
Federal records indicate the aircraft is registered to a company based in Houston, Texas. The crash occurred during severe weather conditions, with temperatures in Maine well below freezing and snowfall drastically reducing visibility.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will collaborate with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to investigate the incident.
