President Luong Cuong's visit will take place from 2/9 to 4/9 at the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Chinese government announced on 28/8 that 26 foreign leaders will attend the military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, held at Tiananmen Square on 3/9.
Among the leaders present are Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Iranian President Masoud Pezashkian, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, and South Korean National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik.

China was the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam on 18/1/1950. The two countries established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2008. In 2023, the two countries issued a joint statement on elevating the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, promoting the building of a Community with a Shared Future of strategic significance.
Regarding trade, in 2024, Vietnam maintained its position as China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and its 4th largest national trading partner (after the US, Japan, and South Korea).
