President Trump affirmed General Secretary To Lam's continued leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam comes at a crucial time as both nations pursue positive outcomes in bilateral relations.

President Trump welcomed Vietnam's decision to participate in the Peace Council initiative. He thanked and appreciated Vietnam's role and bilateral cooperation in promoting peace, ensuring freedom, sovereignty, and independence for nations in the Indo-Pacific region and worldwide.
Mr. Trump expressed hope for swift, positive results in negotiations for a reciprocal, fair, and balanced trade agreement, aiming to further boost the two countries' shared prosperity.
The White House leader expressed confidence that Vietnam-US relations will continue to expand across all sectors: from economy and trade to security, defense, and people-to-people exchanges. President Trump expressed his desire to welcome General Secretary To Lam to visit the US at an appropriate time.
On 16/1, President Trump invited General Secretary To Lam and Vietnam to join the Peace Council as a founding member. The initiative aims to work with the international community to promote a sustainable peaceful solution for the conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip.
Responding to President Trump's invitation, General Secretary To Lam emphasized Vietnam's consistent stance: supporting and contributing to international efforts to resolve conflicts and disagreements through peaceful means. This approach aligns with international law and the United Nations Charter, respecting the fundamental rights of all involved parties.

General Secretary To Lam accepted the invitation to join the Gaza Peace Council. He affirmed Vietnam's readiness to participate as a founding member, working with the US and the international community to actively contribute to a long-term, comprehensive solution for the Middle East peace process. This includes establishing a Palestinian state coexisting peacefully alongside Israel.
Leaders from many countries, including: Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Timor-Leste, Jordan, and Turkey, along with numerous political parties, also sent congratulatory letters and telegrams to General Secretary To Lam. They expressed a desire to strengthen cooperative relations with Vietnam, contributing to regional and international peace, stability, and prosperity.
