At Cambodia's request, prime minister Pham Minh Chinh held a phone conversation with Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet this afternoon. The two leaders agreed to continue strengthening political trust and promoting existing cooperation mechanisms based on the principles of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term sustainable cooperation. They also agreed to enhance the effectiveness of economic cooperation with the spirit of "harmonized benefits, shared risks", aiming to achieve the bilateral trade target of 20 billion USD soon.
Both sides also agreed to promote local connectivity in a practical and effective manner, while developing border gate economies to facilitate cross-border trade and investment. They will continue negotiations to resolve remaining issues related to border demarcation.

Prime minister Chinh requested that Cambodia continue to support and facilitate naturalization for eligible people of Vietnamese origin, as well as create favorable conditions for them to stabilize their lives, integrate, and contribute positively to Cambodian society. He also asked Cambodia to create conditions for Vietnamese businesses to operate stably and expand investment in Cambodia.
Regarding international and regional situations, the two prime ministers exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
Prime minister Chinh affirmed Vietnam's support for efforts to peacefully resolve all disputes in accordance with international law and practices. He emphasized that Vietnam will continue to work with ASEAN member states to promote the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand on 28/7, to promote ASEAN's central role for peace, cooperation, and development in the region.
