President Donald Trump, in a 20/1 interview with NewsNation marking one year since his return to the White House, responded evasively when host Katie Pavlich questioned him about a "secret sonic weapon" reportedly used by the US in an operation in Venezuela earlier this month. "That's something I don't want to talk about...", Trump paused before continuing, "No one else has it. We have weapons that no one else knows about. I think it's better not to discuss it, but we possess some truly incredible weapons."
The Kremlin on 21/1 urged the US to clarify Trump's remarks regarding this secret weapon. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, "We have specialized agencies responsible for collecting and analyzing relevant information, and they are performing their duties. However, in this case, a more explicit explanation from the US President is likely necessary."
In the early hours of 3/1, the United States launched a swift raid on central Caracas, targeting key Venezuelan military bases. US special forces subsequently apprehended President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, transporting them to New York for trial on drug-related charges.
Speculation about a new US sonic weapon intensified after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared an interview on X on 10/1 with a loyal bodyguard of Maduro. The bodyguard described a surprise attack where, in addition to conventional weapons, US forces "emitted something like extremely powerful sound waves, causing everyone to experience nosebleeds, vomiting, and collapse."
The bodyguard stated, "We could not contend with their technology and weapons. I swear I have never witnessed anything like it. After that sonic weapon, or whatever it was, was deployed, we could not even stand."

Sonic weapons employ high-intensity sound waves to incapacitate opponents. Some variations generate focused sound beams, inflicting physical pain and potentially paralyzing the resistance of those targeted. These weapons can induce headaches, balance disorders, disorientation, and permanent hearing damage.
