Most rockets were intercepted, but some hit the Belgorod thermal power plant, causing power outages in the city center. Power has since been fully restored, but water supply services in some parts of the urban area remain disrupted," AMK Mapping reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated its air defenses intercepted 52 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (uavs), including three aircraft in Belgorod province, but did not mention other weapons or related damage.
Belgorod is the capital of the eponymous Russian border province. Both the city and the province have been frequent targets of Ukrainian attacks since the start of the conflict.

Russia and Ukraine have regularly launched attacks on each other's territories since the conflict began. The latest attacks occurred as the first direct talks between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine since the start of the conflict concluded on 24/1 without an agreement, despite being described as positive and constructive.
Ahead of the meeting, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized on 23/1 that Russia firmly demanded Ukraine withdraw from areas it still controlled in the Donbass region to end the conflict.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the possibility of ceding to Russia territories Ukraine currently controls.
