South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung made an unannounced visit to Paldalmun Market in Suwon city, Gyeonggi province, on the afternoon of 25/6 to directly hear feedback from residents and small business owners, according to Deputy Blue House Spokesperson Ahn Gwi-ryeong.
The visit to Paldalmun Market proceeded routinely, with President Lee and Mrs. Kim meeting and inquiring about the living conditions of stall owners. However, on 28/6, Ohmy TV gained attention after publishing a video showing the presidential couple purchasing snacks at the market.
Mrs. Kim sat down at a stall selling agricultural products and asked for a price. When the vendor stated the item cost 10.000 won, Mrs. Kim prepared to open her wallet, remarking, "I like that one."
At that moment, President Lee, seated beside her, immediately took out his wallet and insisted on paying for his wife. Mrs. Kim looked up at her husband and smiled, appearing very happy.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, attracting numerous comments expressing delight and admiration. "Oh my, I love how the President looks at his wife and smiles after paying," one user commented.
"What a thoughtful husband, truly caring for his wife," another user wrote.
