Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of general secretary and president To Lam, visited the Soong Ching Ling Youth Science and Culture Exchange Center in Beijing on 14/4. This activity took place within the framework of the state visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse.
Ngo Phuong Ly expressed her delight in visiting a center named after an outstanding Chinese woman who dedicated her life to revolution, peace, international friendship, and especially to the future of children, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The spouse shared that this is not just an education and science center; it is a vivid symbol of a profound humanistic vision that places children at the center of social development.

At the center, the spouse of the general secretary and president was introduced to the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the activities of the Youth Science and Culture Exchange Center. She toured the Montessori Space, Essence Space, and classes on Peking opera, papermaking, ceramics, and handicrafts.
In a traditional medicine class, the spouse experienced making scented sachets by selecting six types of herbs, grinding them, and placing them into a bag.
She expressed her admiration for the open, modern space of the Soong Ching Ling center, where youth can access science, technology, art, and creative activities in a lively, accessible way.
The spouse noted that the center clearly demonstrates a progressive educational philosophy: learning by doing, learning through experience, and learning for comprehensive development.

According to Ngo Phuong Ly, caring for and nurturing children is not just a responsibility but a sacred mission, cultivating the future of each nation. A successful education not only creates skilled individuals but also responsible, compassionate citizens eager to contribute to society.
The spouse stated that Vietnam aims to ensure all children receive care, education, and development under optimal conditions. Vietnam was also the first country in Asia and the second globally to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Ngo Phuong Ly believes that amidst the explosion of artificial intelligence, space science, and biotechnology, the human element remains core. She hopes that child care and education today need to take on new responsibilities, particularly fostering creative thinking and problem-solving skills, cultivating compassion, and helping children understand empathy, sharing, and community responsibility.
