"For those who don't know, I'm sworn in as a reserve police officer and I'm also a filmmaker," the 59-year-old Cain announced on social media on 5/8. "I felt it was important to step up and support first responders who protect American safety, so I joined ICE."
The actor also promoted the "great benefits" of working for ICE, such as a $50,000 salary, student loan repayment, excellent retirement benefits, and special allowances for field officers.

"ICE is getting the worst people off of US streets. I like that, and I voted for that. They need your help. We need your help to protect our homeland and families," Cain said, adding that this would help "save America."
Cain is best known for his role as Clark Kent (Superman) in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which aired from 1993 to 1997. He has also appeared in numerous other television shows and films, often in action, crime, and family genres.
The actor's decision to join ICE has been met with mixed reactions from fans.

Since returning to the White House, President Donald Trump and federal agencies have intensified immigration enforcement and deportation efforts, with ICE playing a central role. This has led to increased recruitment efforts within ICE to meet the demands of large-scale immigration enforcement operations.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on 6/8 the decision to lift age restrictions for ICE law enforcement positions, opening opportunities for candidates previously excluded due to age. Noem said ICE is seeking to recruit 10,000 additional personnel and has received 80,000 applications.
"Patriots, apply today," Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller urged after Noem's announcement.
However, ICE's aggressive immigration enforcement campaigns have also sparked protests across the country. According to a CNN poll released on 20/7, 55% of Americans surveyed said the Trump administration "has gone too far" in its efforts to deport undocumented immigrants, a 10 percentage point increase from February.
