Five male officers and one female colleague from the Tha Luang district police station in Lopburi province disguised themselves as a group of female dancers. Their mission was to approach Mekha Fa-wap-wap, a suspected drug dealer, during a street festival in Lopburi, located about 145 km north of Bangkok.
This disguise tactic led to the arrest of Fa-wap-wap. Authorities seized 53 methamphetamine pills and 211 nylon bags believed to be intended for drug sales. Police also confiscated a mobile phone suspected of being used to operate an illegal gambling ring.

Fa-wap-wap was subsequently charged with drug possession and sale, along with operating an illegal online gambling game.
"We do not want to go out and make arrests this way because costume rental is very expensive", the Tha Luang police station's Facebook account posted on 21/5. The post included photos of the officers in colorful, sequined dresses standing behind the handcuffed suspect and the seized evidence.
Thai police have a history of employing unique disguises to apprehend criminals. In February, Bangkok police wore lion dance costumes to track and arrest a suspect involved in the theft of Buddhist artifacts during the Lunar New Year.
