On 30/11, US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine "is facing some minor difficulties", referring to a recent corruption investigation that led to the resignation of presidential chief of staff Andriy Yermak. "However, I think there's a good chance we'll reach a deal," he added.
The statement followed an hours-long meeting between US and Ukrainian delegations in Florida. Both sides deemed the discussions productive, though US Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that more effort is needed for a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
"This issue is sensitive and complex. Many factors are at play, and another party will be involved in this process. That will continue when special envoy Steve Witkoff travels to Moskva," Rubio stated.

Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine's Security Council, who led the Kyiv delegation, reported to President Volodymyr Zelensky on "significant progress" made during the talks.
He stressed the importance of constructive negotiations and openly discussing all issues, with a clear focus on ensuring Ukraine's sovereignty and national interests.
However, a source close to the Ukrainian delegation acknowledged that the agreement process "is not easy as the parties still need to find a formula and solutions." Another source added that the US aims to finalize key points before negotiations in Moskva.
Washington last week unveiled a plan to end the Ukraine conflict, seeking to persuade Moskva and Kyiv to accept it. The initial 28-point proposal included requirements for Ukraine to cede some territory, accept limits on military size, and cease pursuing joining NATO.
This draft met opposition from Ukraine and European nations. Some provisions were removed in an updated draft, but its content has not been disclosed.
