Speaking at a rally in Oklahoma on 1/10, former U.S. President Donald Trump stated his plan to issue USD 5,000 checks to every adult nationwide is entirely feasible.
He indicated the plan would cost approximately USD 1 trillion, which could be covered by the USD 21 trillion in investments he claimed to have brought to the U.S. during his first half-term. "When you hear that number, USD 1 trillion is actually very small," President Trump declared. "I always keep my promises; I never fail."
The former president did not specify the data supporting his USD 21 trillion figure. White House records from that period only listed total investments from foreign companies and governments in the U.S. at USD 11,2 trillion.
"Only the Republican Party can achieve this; Democrats accomplish nothing," he asserted. "We are generating immense revenue from tariffs and a record-breaking economy. With Democratic policies, these achievements would be a long way off."

Trump first introduced the proposal to distribute a USD 5,000 "dividend" to all citizens at the Republican midterm convention in September. He stated the funds would come from recent economic policies, including tariffs.
This proposal met with mixed reactions. A survey by Strength in Numbers and Verasight last week revealed that 66% of U.S. voters considered the proposal "inappropriate," while 14% deemed it "appropriate," and 20% remained neutral.
An NBC survey published on 20/9 indicated that 21% of voters would support a candidate backing this payment in the midterm elections, while 46% opposed it. A Reuters and Ipsos survey on 14/9 found that 63% of Americans did not support the proposal, including approximately 40% of Republican voters and 90% of Democratic voters.
Conversely, a survey from Harvard CAPS and the Harris consulting firm, released last week, showed different results: 43% opposed, and 57% of adults supported the plan, with 35% fully supportive and 22% partially supportive.
Trump maintained his idea was entirely feasible, citing a similar government policy in December that provided USD 1,776 to each service member. He also referenced a budget bill passed last year, noting that many had dismissed his ideas as impossible then, yet the legislation ultimately passed.
At the Oklahoma rally on 2/10, President Trump urged voters to imagine his name was on the ballot to secure a Republican victory in the midterm elections. He cautioned that if the party lost control of Congress, he could face impeachment attempts and potentially dangerous policies from Democrats.
