Claudio Valente, the 48-year-old suspect in the Brown University shooting, was discovered deceased on 18/12 in a Salem, New Hampshire warehouse. His body was found alongside a shoulder bag and two firearms, according to Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha.
Valente, a former Brown University student and Portuguese citizen, had been the subject of an extensive six-day police manhunt following the shooting. Earlier, a large police presence converged on an area in Salem, where they located an abandoned vehicle with a license plate believed to be linked to the suspect.
"The suspect died by suicide tonight", Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez told reporters on 18/12. Police believe Valente acted alone, and his motive remains unclear.

Authorities are also investigating Valente's possible involvement in the murder of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Professor Nuno Loureiro. Professor Loureiro, 47, was fatally shot at his home in Brookline, a Boston suburb in Massachusetts, two days after the Brown University incident. Brookline is about 80 km north of Brown University.
The shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island on 13/12 resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to at least 9 others. Police initially arrested a man immediately following the incident but later released him after determining he was not involved.
