During the briefing on 27/1 in Hanoi, Le Hoai Trung, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs, thanked international friends and partners for their attendance and interest in the 14th Congress. He highlighted that this significant event not only reviewed the five-year term of the 13th National Party Congress (2021-2026) but also marked a historic milestone, opening a new development path and demonstrating the Vietnamese people's strong aspiration for progress.
The Minister stated that the Congress successfully completed its agenda, adopting important documents and electing the 14th Central Committee, comprising 200 members: 180 official members and 20 alternate members. The Central Committee then elected the Politburo, consisting of 19 members.
The Congress documents were drafted in a unique context, as the nation has undergone 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal) and approaches the significant milestones of the Party's 100th anniversary and the nation's 100th founding anniversary.

A significant new aspect of the 14th Congress was its approach to document drafting, which comprehensively assessed 40 years of Doi Moi. These documents encapsulate the wisdom, will, and aspirations of the entire Party and people, reflecting Vietnam's innovative thinking and strong determination for development in this new period.
The Congress outlined an overarching goal: maintaining a peaceful, stable environment; achieving rapid, sustainable development; improving people's lives; and fostering strategic autonomy, self-reliance, and confidence to advance strongly in the nation's new era. The aim is for Vietnam to become a developed, high-income country by 2030, with a vision extending to 2045.
The documents feature new, groundbreaking points. They identify socio-economic development and environmental protection as central; Party building as pivotal; cultural and human development as foundational; strengthening national defense, security, and promoting foreign relations and integration as crucial, ongoing priorities; and breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation as central drivers of development.
The Congress also established 5 major guiding principles, 8 key orientations, and three strategic breakthroughs.
The Congress affirmed a continued commitment to an independent, self-reliant, multilateral, diversified foreign policy, actively and effectively integrating into the international community comprehensively. This involves closely combining Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, people-to-people diplomacy, and police and defense diplomacy. Vietnam aims to contribute positively and responsibly to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development regionally and globally.
Rajpal Singh, Singapore's Ambassador to Vietnam, expressed his impression with General Secretary To Lam's statements regarding the development vision until 2045. He views this as an opportunity for Singaporean businesses to expand cooperation with Vietnam to pursue ambitious goals together. Vietnam's foreign policy will remain crucial, especially amid current difficulties and challenges.
