Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated on 13/10 that "Vietnam condemns recent attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which caused civilian casualties and threaten regional and global peace and stability."
Saudi Arabia has experienced a series of attacks on its airports in less than a week. An attack at King Khalid international airport on 11/10 resulted in one death and 11 injuries, according to the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority. An earlier attack on the same airport on 10/10 killed 13 people and injured over 300, marking it as the deadliest attack in Saudi Arabia in over a decade.

Vietnam urged all parties to exercise restraint, strictly comply with international law, the United Nations (UN) Charter, and relevant UN resolutions, and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations. The spokesperson also called on relevant parties to resume negotiations, facilitate dialogue, and work towards resolving differences peacefully, for the benefit of the people and for peace, stability, and development in the region and worldwide.
Following these airport attacks, governments of many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Japan, this week issued advisories urging citizens to limit or avoid travel to Saudi Arabia.
Houthi forces in Yemen confirmed on 11/10 that they had carried out four operations targeting Saudi Arabia within 24 hours, using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The Houthi spokesperson stated these attacks, including those on King Khalid airport in Riyadh, "disrupted air traffic and forced the airport to close." This was claimed as retaliation for "Saudi Arabia's brutal aggression against Yemen and its people," with Riyadh reportedly conducting 124 airstrikes on Sanaa and other provinces.

The Saudi-led coalition launched a military intervention in Yemen in 2015 to counter Houthi forces and restore the internationally recognized government. Fighting between the two sides has intensified recently after a ceasefire collapsed in July.
