Deputy prime minister and foreign minister Bui Thanh Son attended the 4th Conference on East Asia Cooperation for Palestinian Development (CEAPAD IV) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 11/7, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. CEAPAD is a cooperative mechanism initiated by Japan in 2013 with the participation of East Asian countries (ASEAN, Japan, South Korea) to increase development assistance for Palestine.
Speaking at the conference, the deputy prime minister affirmed Vietnam's consistent stance of supporting a fair, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the pre-1967 borders and in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

He emphasized Vietnam's readiness to cooperate closely with partners, including East Asian countries, to mobilize resources, share development experiences, and support capacity building for the Palestinian state and its people.
Deputy prime minister Bui Thanh Son announced an additional $350,000 in humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people through relevant international organizations, contributing to alleviating their difficulties and supporting the reconstruction process.
In 2023, Vietnam's leadership announced $500,000 in humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza.
At the conference, participating countries expressed deep concern about the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the territory and an end to violence, ensuring the safety of civilians and facilitating humanitarian aid efforts.
The conference emphasized the need to strengthen international efforts and promote the CEAPAD partnership to support urgent humanitarian needs as well as Palestine's recovery, reconstruction, and development.
The conference adopted the Kuala Lumpur Action Program CEAPAD IV to enhance and coordinate support efforts based on Palestine's needs and practical requirements.
