These include: digital transformation, science and technology, clean energy, carbon credit exchange, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and financial centers, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Looking ahead, the two leaders committed to new breakthroughs, aiming for deeper, higher-quality, and more effective economic cooperation. Vietnam and Singapore will enhance business connections, fostering high-quality two-way investment in strategic, high-value-added sectors.

Vietnam expressed strong support for the ASEAN Power Grid Initiative, pledging responsible contributions to its implementation. The nation recognizes the critical role of energy, particularly in advancing science and technology, for overall development.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam concurred with General Secretary, President To Lam, that science, technology, and innovation should serve as a key pillar of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This initiative involves accelerating the "State - Enterprise - Researcher" connection model, effectively linking research with practical application.

Both nations also agreed to advance defense and security cooperation, aligning it with the robust bilateral relationship and high political trust. This includes expanding collaboration into new domains. The leaders underscored the importance of reinforcing the social foundation of their ties through cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
Vietnam and Singapore pledged effective coordination and mutual support in multilateral forums. They affirmed their commitment to multilateralism and strengthening the United Nations' role in addressing global security and development challenges. Furthermore, they will reinforce ASEAN's centrality and push for effective, substantive negotiations on a Code of Conduct (COC) in the South China Sea.
General Secretary, President To Lam made a state visit to Singapore from 29-31/5, at the invitation of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. During his visit, he also participated in and delivered a keynote speech at the Shangri-La Dialogue.
Diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore were established in 1973, with their partnership elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation stands as the most significant highlight in Vietnam-Singapore relations. Singapore is currently one of Vietnam's top economic partners and its second largest investor, with over 4,500 active projects and nearly 97 billion USD in registered capital.
The Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) system serves as a prime example of successful bilateral cooperation. Originating from the first VSIP, this network has since expanded across numerous localities nationwide.
