Vietnam has affirmed its commitment to actively collaborate with the newly formed Peace Council to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The nation's consistent stance supports peaceful solutions to conflicts and disagreements, adhering to international law and the United Nations (UN) Charter, while respecting the fundamental rights of all parties involved. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang conveyed this message at a regular press conference on 29/1, addressing Vietnam's role as a founding member of the Peace Council.
As one of the first nations to recognize the State of Palestine, Vietnam welcomes all efforts to bring lasting peace to the Gaza Strip. These efforts are pursued for the benefit of the Palestinian people, grounded in respect for international law and the UN Charter.

Vietnam supports the peace plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict, which the UN Security Council adopted on 17/11/2025. Following an invitation, Vietnam accepted membership in the Peace Council to help implement this plan.
Ms. Hang reiterated that Vietnam will actively coordinate with the Peace Council's members in implementing the peace plan. This cooperation seeks to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and promote sustainable peace in the Middle East, based on a Two-State solution, in accordance with international law, the Charter, and relevant UN resolutions.
US President Donald Trump extended an invitation to General Secretary To Lam and Vietnam on 16/1. In a letter, President Trump invited Vietnam to join the Peace Council as a founding member, working with the international community to foster a sustainable peace solution for the conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Gaza Strip.
General Secretary To Lam accepted the invitation, affirming Vietnam's readiness to participate as a founding member. The nation will actively contribute alongside the US and the international community towards a long-term, comprehensive solution for the Middle East peace process.
On 22/1, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son attended the signing ceremony for the Peace Council Charter. The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland.
