2025 Yamaha PG-1 debuts with a top price of 34.9 million VND

The retro-styled motorbike gets ABS brakes and a new LCD instrument panel, while the engine remains unchanged and 4 new colors are added.

Yamaha Vietnam launched the new PG-1 at an event held at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. The 2025 model is available in three versions: standard, premium, and limited edition. The overall design remains unchanged.

The premium and limited edition versions have been upgraded with front-wheel ABS. The front disc brake is 245 mm compared to 220 mm on the standard version. However, the rear brake remains a drum brake. The standard version retains its previous specifications.

Front and rear tires have been upgraded to IRC GP-22S tires. While the size remains 90/100-16, the tread pattern has been expanded for better off-road performance.

The headlight is a classic round halogen unit, and the turn signals are separate. The taillight assembly is similarly round. The handlebars are exposed, wide, and high-set for a comfortable riding position.

The instrument panel retains its classic round design but has been upgraded to an LCD screen, displaying information such as speed, RPM, gear, fuel level, ABS warning, and turn signals.

The front suspension features rubber-covered telescopic forks with 130 mm of travel to help keep out mud and dirt. The rear suspension is a swingarm type.

The 2025 PG-1 ABS retains its rugged, off-road-oriented design. The standard version measures 1,980 x 805 x 1,050 mm (length x width x height), while the premium and limited edition versions are 5 mm taller. The bike weighs 107 kg (standard) and 109 kg (premium and limited edition). The seat height is 795 mm and the ground clearance is 190 mm, targeting young riders who enjoy exploration and off-roading.

The bike retains its 115 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing 8.8 horsepower at 7,000 RPM and 9.5 Nm of torque at 5,500 RPM. It has a 4-speed transmission with a chain drive.

The fuel tank capacity is 5.1 liters, and fuel consumption is 1.76 liters/100 km.

The premium version adds new retro-inspired colors and graphics in red-black, gray-black, and blue-black, while the limited edition version features a green paint scheme.

The 2025 Yamaha PG-1 is priced at 30.928 million VND for the standard version, 34.464 million VND for the premium version, and 34.855 million VND for the limited edition version.

Since its launch, the PG-1 has carved out a new niche in the Vietnamese market and remains unchallenged. Previously, there were privately imported Honda Cross Cub 110 and CT125 Hunter Cub models. However, the Cross Cub 110 costs around 70-80 million VND, while the CT125 Hunter Cub can reach up to 140 million VND, catering to a smaller, more affluent customer base. The PG-1, with its underbone design, scrambler style, and affordable price, targets young customers, especially Gen Z, who desire a unique bike that can be customized to their liking and used for exploring any terrain.
