The incident occurred when a man was playing football close to the roadside. Unexpectedly, the ball rolled into the street just as a woman on a motorbike approached. Her motorbike wheel struck the ball, causing the bike to slide and the woman to fall onto the road. Fortuitously, she fell to the right side, and the driver of an approaching car, equipped with a dashcam, quickly swerved to the left, narrowly avoiding a collision.
Decree 168/2024 stipulates that illegally playing football, shuttlecock, badminton, or engaging in other sports on roadways, as well as using skateboards, roller skates, or similar equipment on the road, is punishable by a fine of VND 200,000 to VND 250,000. Residents living alongside roads should avoid playing near the roadside, as it poses a significant safety risk to themselves and other road users.
For drivers, especially those on motorbikes and bicycles which are prone to losing balance, it is crucial to reduce speed immediately upon spotting obstacles or people running into the road. Additionally, drivers should always maintain focus and a safe following distance to anticipate and react to any sudden situations.
