The BYD Atto 3 is known as Yuan Plus in its domestic market. The new version appeared in registration documents filed with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). For the 2026 model year, the Chinese automaker has redesigned the exterior with a larger body and added a rear-wheel drive platform.

MIIT documents list the Atto 3 2026 as offering only rear-wheel drive with two power output versions: 268 horsepower (200 kW) and 321 horsepower (240 kW). The new electric motor, designated TZ200XSBR, is manufactured by Zhengzhou BYD Auto.
The vehicle uses LFP batteries supplied by BYD's FinDreams battery division. Battery capacity and range specifications have not yet been disclosed. Its top speed is 190 km/h, according to MIIT. In addition to rear-wheel drive, the new Atto 3 also adds a driver assistance system with optional features.
The Atto 3 2026 has increased dimensions. It measures 4,665 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, and 1,675 mm high, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase. Compared to the previous model, the new Atto 3 is 200 mm longer. This increases luggage compartment capacity by 50 liters to 490 liters, or up to 1,360 liters with the rear seats folded. The front storage compartment has a capacity of 101 liters.

The exterior features a redesigned front bumper, slimmer headlights, and new semi-flush door handles. It offers 18 or 19 inch wheel options. The taillight cluster is designed as a full-width strip. The interior includes a subtly updated center console and vertically rearranged air vents.
According to the plan, the new BYD Atto 3 will launch around mid-2026. The Atto 3 belongs to the B+ segment of high-riding vehicles.
