iCar, a sub-brand of Chinese automotive group Chery, unveiled its new electric off-road concept, the Robox 2026, at Auto China 2026.
The name Robox, a portmanteau of "Robot" and "Box," is rendered in a rugged font reminiscent of the Tesla Cybertruck. The vehicle's exterior boasts a roof rack with integrated led lights, an aerodynamic spoiler, and auxiliary lights on the front bumper. Distinctive semi-circular headlights, transparent plastic wheel arches, and 19-inch five-spoke wheels complete its look.

Robox features a monolithic boxy design with a black roof and body-colored vertical C-pillars. An active rear spoiler and dual led daytime running lights enhance its modern aesthetic. Black front and rear bumpers, accented by a silver front bumper trim, embody iCar's signature style.
The Robox concept on display was cordoned off, preventing media and visitors from accessing or viewing its interior. iCar stated the vehicle is designed for level 3 or 4 autonomous driving, implying no steering wheel or pedals. This direction aligns with Tesla Cybercab's robotaxi vision.
Underpinning the Robox concept is the new i-Swift 3.0 platform, featuring a 1,000 V electrical architecture. This advanced system enables DC fast charging exceeding 1,000 kW, directly competing with BYD's 1,500 kW Flash Charging technology. The platform supports both lithium-ion and solid-state batteries. iCar has not yet disclosed battery specifications, operating range, or whether the concept will feature three or four electric motors.
The iCar Robox is anticipated to spearhead a series of new vehicles within the X line.
