A cyclist was waiting to cross the road at a median opening on 29/4 in Breves, Para state. A long, thin wooden beam was carried horizontally across the bicycle, with one end extending into the roadway.
While the cyclist recognized the danger and steered clear, the motorcyclist directly behind did not notice the wooden beam and rode straight into it. The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown backward, with both the rider and the motorcycle crashing into a car parked by the road.
Both the person carrying the wooden beam and others nearby rushed to assist the victim until medical personnel arrived. The victim's condition is currently unknown.
Local officials advised residents to comply with traffic safety regulations, such as wearing helmets and transporting goods and materials according to proper standards, to prevent accidents like the one shown in the video.
