At a signalized intersection, a moving sedan suddenly braked to a complete stop. The driver seemed hesitant due to the conflicting signal countdown timer and traffic light color, as the driver of the truck beside it reacted similarly. The truck behind, not maintaining a safe following distance, crashed into the back of the sedan. The impact propelled the sedan several meters forward. The rear of the sedan and the front of the truck sustained significant damage. Casualties are unknown.
Drivers should always maintain focus and a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. This distance should be increased in wet or slippery conditions. In any rear-end collision, the driver of the trailing vehicle is primarily at fault.
Sedan drivers should observe and interpret traffic signals early. If unsure, gradually decelerate, tapping the brakes to alert the vehicle behind and avoid dangerous situations.
