A black sedan, with its side mirrors folded, was parked horizontally across a lane, obstructing traffic flow. The drivers of the dashcam vehicle and the car in front had to maneuver around the parked car. Despite honking, no one emerged from the sedan, which remained parked as if it were on private property.
Drivers should not park their vehicles in a way that obstructs traffic and jeopardizes the safety of other road users. When parking a car in a driveway, drivers should open the gate first before moving the car, not the other way around. Parking perpendicular to the road, even for a short time, can disrupt traffic and cause accidents.
Decree 168/2024 stipulates a fine of 800,000 to 1,000,000 VND for drivers who fail to park close to the right-hand curb. If such parking leads to a traffic accident, the fine increases to 20-22 million VND, along with a 10-point deduction from the driver's license.
