Car forced to reverse after cutting across traffic

A car crossed into the oncoming lane, blocking traffic at the intersection of Than Van Nhiep and Nguyen Thi Dinh streets on 29/8.

At a busy intersection, a red crossover cut across the oncoming lane to bypass traffic instead of waiting in line. This maneuver further congested the intersection. A car with a dashcam, intending to turn right, found its path blocked. The driver moved forward, forcing the offending vehicle to reverse and return to the correct lane.

Drivers are not permitted to cut across lanes or recklessly overtake other vehicles, obstructing traffic flow. Even in congested conditions, drivers must wait their turn and not cut across lanes to bypass traffic. Decree 168/2024 stipulates that drivers caught overtaking in prohibited areas face fines of 4-6 million VND and two penalty points on their driving license.
