In rainy conditions with limited visibility, a passenger in a truck traveling in the same direction filmed a black Mercedes reversing towards the Bach Quang exit in the emergency lane of the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway. Reversing on expressways is prohibited. Drivers who miss their intended exit must proceed to the next exit to change direction. Reversing creates a significant risk of accidents with other vehicles traveling at high speeds.

Due to the serious danger of driving against traffic on expressways, fines have been increased. However, many drivers continue to disregard the law. Decree 168/2024 imposes fines of 30-40 million VND and deducts 10 points from the driver's license for driving against traffic on an expressway.
