The maximum operating speed on the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway, part of the CT.01 route, will decrease from 120 km/h to 100 km/h. This change, announced by the Traffic Police Department, follows Vietnam Road Administration's Official Dispatch No. 6199 regarding traffic organization adjustments on the expressway.
This new regulation is set to take effect from 12/10, once the corresponding road signage system has been fully adjusted and implemented.
Other speed regulations and existing traffic organization plans for the route will remain unchanged. The adjustment aims to ensure operating speeds align with infrastructure conditions and to synchronize traffic organization with adjacent expressway sections, thereby enhancing overall traffic safety.

The Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Expressway, spanning approximately 50 km, became fully operational in 2012. In February 2016, its maximum speed was raised to 120 km/h following the addition of a wearing course asphalt layer. The Vietnam Expressway Development Investment Corporation (VEC), the unit managing the route, proposed an expansion from 4 to 6 lanes in March 2025, with an estimated cost of over 2,110 billion VND. According to the plan announced at the time, the project was expected to commence in Q1/2026 and be completed in 2028. Currently, most of the expressway remains 4 lanes, with only a few short 6-lane sections.
The Cau Gie - Ninh Binh section is a crucial artery within the North-South Expressway network, connecting with the Phap Van - Cau Gie section, which serves as Hanoi's southern gateway. This segment experiences high traffic volumes, often leading to congestion during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). The Phap Van - Cau Gie section features 6 lanes and has a maximum speed limit of 100 km/h.
The Traffic Police Department advises drivers to actively observe and comply with maximum and minimum speed limit signs, as well as signs at interchanges. Drivers should adjust their speed, maintain a safe distance, pay attention when changing lanes or entering and exiting the expressway, and adhere to instructions from authorities.
