A dashcam video captured a near-miss on the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway near Hai Phong city. The vehicle with the camera was traveling at 115-120 km/h in the far left lane when two large objects, possibly boulders or concrete debris, suddenly appeared in the lane. The driver quickly steered around the obstacles, avoiding a collision and potential damage.
Driving at night presents greater risks due to reduced visibility. For increased safety, drivers should use the center lane whenever possible. This positioning allows for more maneuverability to avoid unexpected obstacles on either side, compared to the limited options available in the far left lane.
If faced with a sudden obstacle, drivers should remain calm, assess their surroundings, maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel, and gently steer around the hazard if space permits, or gradually decelerate. If a collision is unavoidable, activate hazard lights to alert other drivers.
