The incident occurred at a gas station on Highway 30, east of North Platte, Lincoln County, Nebraska, around 7 p.m. on 12/9. From a distance, a red sedan lost control, spun sideways, and slid directly into the gas station.
Hearing the commotion, the man looked up in alarm. The out-of-control car struck a signpost, flipped onto its side, and narrowly missed both the pickup truck and the man, coming to rest near the edge of the property.
Police reported that the man's leg was struck by the passing car, but he sustained no serious injuries. His pickup truck, however, was damaged in the incident.
The man, limping slightly, quickly approached the wrecked vehicle to check on the driver. Police later transported the driver to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Investigators revealed that the car was traveling at least 65 mph in a 40 mph zone. The driver is now facing multiple charges, including reckless driving, driving without a license and insurance, and expired vehicle registration.
