Starting mid-September, Ford Vietnam initiated a recall of 816 domestically assembled Territory vehicles manufactured between 5/12/2022 and 30/1/2023. The recall addresses a potential issue where the steering column bracket might detach from the dashboard frame due to improper welding.

Should the steering column bracket detach, drivers may find it challenging to control the vehicle. In some instances, steering becomes impossible, increasing the risk of accidents. A detached steering column can also damage the wiring system and prevent proper deployment of the driver's airbag.
Ford's authorized dealerships are providing free repairs for affected Territory owners. The repair process takes approximately half a day per vehicle.
This marks the second recall for the Ford Territory in Vietnam. In May, the company recalled six Territory vehicles due to faulty engine control software. These vehicles were assembled between 4/7/2024 and 25/7/2024.
The Territory, a 5-seater SUV, was introduced to the Vietnamese market in 10/2022. In August, Ford launched a mid-cycle upgrade for the Territory. Positioned in the C-segment SUV category, it is priced between 762 and 896 million VND.
In the first eight months of 2025, Ford sold over 7,000 Territory units, ranking second in its segment behind the Mazda CX-5 (nearly 10,000 units). Within Ford's lineup, the Territory currently holds the third position in sales, trailing the Ranger pickup truck and the Everest SUV.
