The home charging station sharing service, accessible through an application, allows BYD electric vehicle owners living in the same residential area to share charging resources. Both the charging station owner and the user can independently negotiate transaction details, including specific charging times and costs, after exchanging contact information.
For electric vehicle owners with a home charging station, if they are out or at work during the day, their charging stations are often unused for approximately 10 hours daily. Sharing these charging stations during this idle time can generate additional income, providing a way to boost earnings and improve resource utilization efficiency.

For electric vehicle owners without a home charging station, shared stations within a residential area offer several advantages. They are not only closer and more convenient for charging, but also eliminate transaction fees and provide lower electricity prices compared to public fast-charging stations.
Beyond BYD, Nio and Xpeng have also introduced a shared charging station function within their owner applications. After setting up a shared charging station and available time slots, other owners can locate the station and make payments directly through the application.
An Xpeng home charging station owner shared that he sets different electricity prices for varying time periods. For instance, off-peak electricity might be 0,35 yuan per kWh, with peak-hour electricity priced higher to offset energy costs while still offering users a lower rate than commercial charging stations. The system also supports automatic payment, where the payment is processed automatically once the charging is complete.
